Lots of inspo (and direct stealing mwahaha) from Becky Chambers' Wayfarer Series, which you should absolutely read, it is a delight. Optimistic, slice of life sci-fi stories in a really exceptionally well build world that balance being calm and chill with tough scenarios and hard questions. Incredible reads, all of them, The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet is maybe my fav book of all time, I've read it like 5 times.
