Why do YA novels have the best worldbuilding?? anyways, when I was like 12 I read A Darkling Sea (its kinda YA?) and Dark Life (this is deffo YA) and I don't remember if the books were good but the worldbuilding is KILLER. Actually I remember really liking a Darkling Sea as a book, as well as as a world. The descriptions of seabed farms and bubble fences and underwater moon pool jellyfish homes and all that shit in Dark Life is so fucking cool tho. Makes me wanna run a TTRPG game with an ancient jellyfish elemental in the abyssal depths of the plane of water and name it Viajviejo and have it be childhood friends with a priestess/ecoterrorist.
